Design: New at the 2017 Cologne Germany IMM furniture fair - Rolf Benz MERA

Kathy and I have been attending the Cologne furniture fair for the last 8 years. This is the fair where the German brands introduce their new collections.  This is also where Kathy and I both freeze because January in Cologne is bitterly cold!  

At Home Resource we represent almost the entire group of high end furniture brands from Germany including Rolf Benz, COR, Draenert, Spectral, Piure, Interlubke, Dreieck, and Dedon.

Although most brands had something interesting in their new introductions, the Rolf Benz MERA sofa impressed us the most with its small proportions and light design. With its slender high feet and delicate frame, the Rolf Benz MERA seems to float formally above the ground – and makes even small spaces feel big.

Just like all of the ROLF BENZ functional furniture, MERA offers concealed comfort options for sitting, reclining and relaxing. When the backrest is flipped up, the back is transformed into an extra-high comfortable backrest which can be adjusted to enable comfortable relaxation. The head section can also be adjusted to suit the preferred individual position. And if you push out the side and fold down the side component, there is room for you to elevate your legs. As this foot section is precisely the same height as the seat, concealed spaces can be integrated. The adjustable side components offer the option for lying across the sofa for even more comfortable sitting.

MERA offers lots of opportunity for personalized design. Thanks to the small seating units, sofa clients will find the right solution for virtually any room layout, from compact individual sofas to spacious modular groupings. The all-round frame is an individual design element combined with the base and is available in a range of surfaces. It goes without saying that Rolf Benz offers fabrics and leather covers for MERA which feel simply wonderful.

Kathy and I were so excited about the design and functionality of the MERA that we have ordered one for the display in our showroom.  We expect to receive it in April.
