Mathare

Cappellini

The collection's name draws inspiration from a humanitarian initiative that saw Giacomo Moor involved in designing and crafting furniture for a school in Mathare, one of the largest slums in Nairobi, Kenya. The designer sought to pay tribute to the strength and vitality of the local community by creating a furniture collection that combines industrial production principles with a project of deep social impact.

The Mathare collection features a bench and tables in various sizes, also available in a contract version for custom configurations. All pieces in the collection are made of oak, offered in natural or black-stained finishes, as well as in the new open-pore lacquered version available in blue, green, and burgundy colors.

Cappellini

Cappellini: Italian Designer Furniture in Sarasota

Cappellini was founded in 1946 by Enrico Cappellini in the Italian Brianza region, north of Milan. Cappellini began as a furniture maker specializing in wooden furniture and case goods. After Enrico’s son Giulio joined the company, bringing a passion for art & design, Cappellini experienced a creative evolution that has placed them at the forefront in the world of design and furnishings.
Cappellini’s collections are known for tapping new trends and far-flung talents; often described as a 'tutti-frutti' affair, with minimalism offered up alongside pop fashion, technology, and amoebic forms. Cappellini is proud to have 18 pieces included in the permanent Design Collection at the Museum of Modern Art.
