Visit to Poltrona Frau - Salone del Mobile 2023

We have discussed many times that the luxury contemporary furniture industry is a small group, and everybody knows everybody. We have been honored that many of our industry relationships have turned into friendships and getting together is more about catching up with each other than discussing the new introductions of furniture. During our recent visit to Milan Italy, Tuesday night at the Poltrona Frau showroom was a classic example of this.

The Poltrona Frau showroom is a palace built in the 18th Century. It is decorated with original frescos and artwork and is recognized as one of the grand elegant structures of its time. The second floor is closed to the public and only special guests and nobility are granted access. Quite a setting for our dinner.

But the real highlight of the evening was that Kathy and I were seated next to our friend and CEO of Poltrona Frau Nicola Coropulis. It was so great that we could reconnect after 4 years of separation (because of the pandemic) and to catch up on life’s adventures and to discuss our planned trip to his hometown in Italy in October.

Nicola, Kathy and I all understand that we are in business and performance is measured in dollars and cents. However, relationships and customer satisfaction are truly the most satisfying aspect of our business. We hope you enjoy this moment that we shared and continue to provide the utmost personal connections to our network of contemporary furniture designers.
