The true meaning of “Made in Germany”: Perfect innovative design and superb handcraftsmanship

As the retail manager of Home Resource, I am always looking forward to hands on training experiences hosted by the furniture manufacturer. Last summer, Kathy Bush and I were invited to Nagold, Germany for the exclusive Rolf Benz training.  With 50 years of experience in perfecting furniture, Rolf Benz has gained the reputation for combining innovative design with superior product quality to produce sofas that retain their beauty and functionality for many years. Rolf Benz is German made in every sense.  All products are manufactured in Nagold, Germany to the very highest standards of craftsmanship using only raw materials such as wood, leather, and textiles that are responsible sourced in Germany.  What stroke me the most was the three-year apprentice program that every Rolf Benz employee has to complete before working in the factory… Yes, three full years of training, no exceptions! After the training, the employees get to choose their preferred work area: seeming, inspecting, construction, welding…
After the outstanding training experience, Kathy and I took the train from Nagold to Milan. Nagold is a town in Southwestern Germany, bordering the Northern Black Forest. It is known for its ruined castle and for its beautiful city center where half-timbered houses and modern architecture meet each other.  The breathtaking train ride took us through peaceful roads, beautiful scenery, and dramatic views of the Alps.
