The Art of Adaptation: Kettnaker’s Ever-Evolving Furniture Line

Kathy and I recently traveled to Dürmentingen, Germany, and visit the Kettnaker factory to deepen our understanding of upcoming new product releases, tour their meticulous production process and to strengthen our relationship with the company’s ownership. Home Resource is their Flagship store in the United States, and it is honor that we appreciate.

During our visit, we learned that Kettnaker’s new product introductions exemplify German design, where precision, craftsmanship, and adaptability come together in a seamless fusion with form and function and advanced technology, in which two products exemplified this mantra; the CASE and SOMA Media system. 

Kettnaker’s new CASE furniture model line is a sleek, geometric design which creates functional storage systems at a much lower entry cost point. Its adaptability fits perfectly with homeowners’ needs to reconfigure their spaces according to their changing needs. Here are two examples. 

Next is Kettnaker’s new SOMA Media system that has been developed in collaboration with Leica, a company known for its precision and technological innovation. Jointly, they have created a solution on how to integrate ever-growing TV sets into the living area. 

The SOMA Media system blends lowboard cabinets with an integrated screen and the innovative Cine 1 Cinema TV from Leica (Sold Seperately) to create an unrivaled home theatre experience that is elegant, innovative, and space saving. Then when the projector is not in use, the display screen retracts into the carcass and the wall behind the media unit can gleefully display your artwork (Second image).

With these two new product lines, the brand continues to push the boundaries of what German furniture can be. These pieces embody a minimalist, sculptural aesthetic that invites interaction and reconfiguration, allowing them to adapt to the ever-changing needs of a modern living room; and that furniture can evolve as art does—shifting, growing, and revealing new layers of meaning over time.

Overall, our visit allowed us to gain an even more profound understanding of how Kettnaker balances modern technology with traditional craftsmanship to create furniture that feels fuses form, function and elegance. It was a great visit on all accounts and we have returned to Home Resource with a renewed appreciation for Kettnaker’s artistry and technical prowess.
